Summer's Almost Over

Hey guys,

Well, not sure who still reads this, but I haven't posted in quite a while. I just had my traditional 1:30-2 AM snack and carbonated water, and figured, "Hey! It's a great time to post on LJ!" I really should be going to bed. I have to wake up at like, 10:15 or something, and then I have practice at 12. I guess I have a lot of stuff to explain before I ramble on about things.

My internship has been over for a good week, and I really do miss a lot of the people I worked with. Seeing your coworkers everyday...it's like, forming some sort of office family. Most of the people there consisted of guys older than me, probably between the ages of 22-26. They were like a whole group of older brothers, seriously. I also found it cool how most of the people in the office came from outside of Montreal! Asif's from Pakistan, Jean-Christophe (when he was there) is from France, Korede's from Africa, Enrico's from Germany, so is Jan, etc etc etc. I miss them all.

I went back to Light a Dream for volunteering for a week. The new project manager summer student is pretty awesome. She knows the ways of metal and good freaking music.

Things with Andrew...just keep getting better! I can't picture life without that guy, which may sound bad, but I'm not exaggerating. Throughout the summer, I'd see him at least 5 days out of the 7 days of the week. We love spending time together, and with our friends. I love him, so much, and I mean it.

Band. Amazing. Three shows coming up. This coming Thursday, August 21st, at Clyde's at 9 PM $5 at the door (in case ya know, Lauren might be reading and may want to show up with Luke or something). We have September 13th at Clyde's again. And October 17th at a location that is so far unknown! Very excited, AND very nervous. I have to memorize a bunch of lyrics the next couple of days.

K I'm starting to get sleepy, and may not even rant tonight. Actually, take out the "may not" and replace it with "will not". I'm le tired.

Oh, I'm moving to Vaudreuil.

Today is my last relax day until I start working fulltime for SAP. What do I expect? I'm not entirely sure. I do admit I'm a tad nervous to start, and my boss called last week to tell me he's going to be gone during my first week of work. Apparently I'm going to be looking at a lot of documents and whatnot, and my desk will be set up and stuff. I'm still kinda nervous, even though I'll be meeting a lot of new people (like my team). Maybe I shouldn't be nervous? Who knows. I still don't like the fact that I have to wake up at like 5:30 tomorrow morning to take the early train to get there for 8:30. The 7:20 train got me there at like, 8:25 last time. However, I think I might be a little nervous that I'll get there a little bit late with that train. Maybe I should take an earlier one just in case. Who knows. Aaaah. I'm so nervous!

Marks are coming back for Winter 2008 and so far so good. So far I haven't gotten anything under a B, which is maintaining/raising my GPA :D. I got a B in Intro to Atmospheric Science (absolutely pathetic, I know), a B+ in Popular Music After 1945 (that teacher is one of those guys who doesn't like my writing), and a B+ in Stats (YAY FOR ASHWEE!!!). So far, my expectations for COMP206 and COMP250 are fairly high, (A- in COMP250 and maybe around a B or B+ for 206), and they should thus raise my GPA a little higher.

The past week's been fairly good. Paganfest with Gwynbleidd (instead of Elluveitie), Tyr, Turisas, and Ensiferum was last Saturday. Very good concert indeed, especially with a photo pass. Monday was my Pop Music final, and then Tuesday was my COMP250 final. Tuesday was great, because right after my final, I headed down to the Bell Center, met up with Em, ate McDo's, and watched Gigantour (High on Fire, Job for a Cowboy, Children of Bodom, In Flames, Megadeth). IT WAS AWESOME! I think I was in tears during Come Clarity by In Flames. It was sooo awesome.

Wednesday, I went to visit people at Abbott after getting some new clothes for work. It was great seeing people! Hung out with Andrew and Allison, and like, Mudkip Mike, and people. It was great! Then I went to Andrew's after he bought Mario Kart for the Wii. It's so awesome :D. I went back to Abbott on Thursday so I could spend time with Andrew and Julian at Fairview (took the bus with them from Abbott). We ate supper, and Fez came and sat down with us at some point. Andrew squirted ketchup in a huge projectile line that almost hit me. I also ordered new glasses, which should hopefully be coming in soon. Fridayyyyyyy was relax at home day until Andrew came over and we played some Magic cards. We then went to Doug's with Julians and had a Magic draft which was fairly successful.

Yesterday was my karate school's annual karate tournament at Abbott. I judged semi-knockdown for a while, but had to leave early due to coming home to eat supper and picking up Andrew before watching the Knockdown (my Mom had to film). That knockdown took forever to end, but had some pretty awesome fights. I think Andrew enjoyed it a bit too.

What else can I talk about? Hmmm. I guess I could just end it here.

    <lj:music>In Flames - Delight and Angers</lj:music>

I haven't quite posted here in a while, it seems, and it being almost 9 AM on a Saturday morning (when I should still be deep in slumber) is calling for a good time to post here. I'm listening to some music my friend Denis sent me, and it's fairly awesome. I'm pretty introspective this morning actually. I don't know why.

Was my last day of classes yesterday and it feels good not having to go to school anymore for class. I have an assignment due the 21st, and like one due tomorrow (which is being handled I think by my partners). I did pretty well on my two midterms in COMP250: 83 on the first, 80 on the second. I feel happies! Here's my exam schedule *cries*:

Tuesday, April 15th, 9 AM : Stats
Friday, April 18th, 2 PM : Intro to Atmospheric Science
Friday, April 25th, 2 PM : Intro to Software Systems (thank the lord for a week's worth of studying for this one)
Monday, April 28th, 2 PM : Popular Music After 1945
Tuesday, April 29th, 2 PM : Intro to Computer Science
...

Doesn't look that bad. I like how I have a full week to study for the COMP courses (Software Systems/Computer Science). That makes me feel very comfortable. Popular Music...I guess I should read stuff over and whatnot. Last class of Pop Music was really awesome actually. Our teacher played "side 1" of Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd for those who don't know...and side 1 = tracks up to Money). It was so awesome sitting in my chair, closing my eyes, and listening to some freaking awesome music. Then my teacher pulls out his electric guitar, blasts Weezer on the speakers, and plays along for 3-4 songs. It was pretty awesome. That teacher's pretty cool. I think he missed his 3 TAs being there though...stupid TA strike. I missed the TAs too actually. I wanted to thank the metalhead TA for helping me out with my essay sources and tell him about Paganfest coming up.

Ah yes, the concert report. Concerts coming up look very promising. April 26th: PAGANFEST 2008 with Eluveitie, Tyr, Turisas, and Ensiferum. April 29th: GIGANTOUR 2008 with Job for a Cowboy, Children of Bodom, In Flames, and Megadeth. I'm very excited for both of them. My friend really got me into Eluveitie lately.

My boyfriend's not the type to listen to metal, but he's coming to Paganfest anyway :D. He offered a while back and I said no for his sake, but then he threw up on my arm so I decided to take up the offer after all. LOL. He's kinda scared actually, but I assured him there's nothing to be afraid of! I don't go into those crazy metal concert moshpits. Haha. Poor Andrews.

Speaking of Andrews, things with him are going incredibly well. Had him over last night and we had the leftover Chinese we ordered a while ago (I put in my freezer). It was sooooo good! We also played quite a bit of Oblivion together. Yes, Oblivion's a single-player game, guys. We're dorks. I play it on my PS3, he plays it on his laptop, separate files, separate games. It's pretty fun though. We also watched like 4 episodes of Evangelion. Andrew's been wanting to show it to me for a while so we watched some last night. I was surprised. I really like it so far!

I've been dying to work on my graphic novel lately, but Matt still hasn't developed any drafts, which is fine. I understand he's busy with school and whatnot. I'm sure once he produces drafts, they'll be awesome. Plus I've got Julian helping me out with backgrounds :D. I have faith in this graphic novel, but I need those drafts. Silly Matthew.

What else do I have to say? Probably nothing much. I start my internship at SAP Canada on May 5th, and I'm really psyched for that actually. Mobile Interaction Designer what what???

MMm new In Flames album is pretty damn awesome, btw. I recommend it to everyone I guess. I find it better than Come Clarity.

    <lj:music>In Flames - The Chosen Pessimist</lj:music>

Yessums. It seems we In Flames fans have been blessed with the new album a week early on MySpace! All tracks are up for listenings, and wow. I am definitely impressed, and want this album much more now. A Sense of Purpose is definitely going to be worth the purchase. I like it so far a lot more than Come Clarity, and so far one of my favorite songs off of it is The Chosen Pessimist. It's beautiful. Just. WOW.

So I took the day off because of waking up with a pounding headache. It comes back here and there now but it's mostly gone. Good Lord it was so bad when I woke up though! However, by staying home, I got quite a bit finished. I've got my Java coding done for the COMP250 assignment (although my differentiate() method's being a little funky, just gotta debug that). My portion for the team COMP206 assignment's pretty much done (just gotta add a Java applet of a clock, which our teacher is encouraging us to steal off the Internet). It's also very nice that Jay's done his portion too. Now we just gotta get Luke's portion! Also, MUAR392 assignment's almost done (taking a break from writing crap by hand). :D

I have a job interview at SAP Canada on Friday morning at 9 AM. 9 in the freaking morning in Old Montreal where I'm not entirely sure where it is. GREAT LOL. Going to be quite the adventure that morning. Gonna pick me up some sushi after the interview or something. But yeah I'm kinda nervous for it. It's quite the big company and whatnot.

I started drawing again. It feels nice. Especially since I actually used my new markers I bought at the beginning of the year! I have that portrait scanned onto my deviantART account: http://starforsaken101.deviantart.com. It's of the main villain of my graphic novel, who is now finally named (Alistair Orelius). He's fairly badass and I don't think it would be appropriate to list his skills/powers quite as of yet. However, I will say he is NOT a vampire. Vampires are not nearly as badass as what Alistair is :P.

Things with Andrew and I are going so well. I love him SO much and I'm so awesomely happy. He's the best boyfriend EVER and he's so sweet. I can't wait until he's at McGill next year! EEE ANDREWS.

    <lj:music>Nightwish - Bye Bye Beautiful</lj:music>

I have the flu. Yippy. On Thursday night my Mom was wondering why I was so quiet and tired, and I had no idea why. I just thought it was because I had a midterm that day, but I didn't feel that tired. But then I started coughing at night so I was like, oh crap, whatever, right? Friday morning I wake up to the room kinda spinning and my cough even worse. I'm like, well, maybe I shouldn't go to school today, I mean I only have one class. But then I realized CAPS at McGill made an appointment for me to review my CV. I thought, oh CRAP, that's actually important. So I went to McGill with a fever, did the CV review (which I needed for applying to internships and whatnot), and then I went to class and stuff. Wow, that was a horrible day of fever. But luckily, my fever broke before going to Andrew's, and I was fine at Andrew's :).

However, Saturday morning comes around and I'm like, good LORD this cold is HORRIBLE. Went shopping with my Mom for stuff that I needed at night (had a mini games night with some people). Then I took some cough medicine, and passed out on my couch at 4. Then I woke up to my Mom poking me and Andrew being in my house O_O. I don't understand how I slept through Andrew coming in because my door makes a lot of noise. So I woke up feeling kinda weird and Andrew and I started to make sushi and stuff. I felt horrible, but I was like, yeah whatever. Friends came over, and I think at one point I started feeling feverish again. Checked my temperature...103.1. I was like, oh crap. So I have the flu. My whole body hurts. My throat/chest is sore from coughing, and actually it makes my abs hurt to cough now. It's pretty awful. But luckily today I'm feeling better.

So I'm on march break. This is my first day yay! However not much yay. After this I should probably start studying for the midterms I have next week. Here's what I got going down next week:

MARCH 6TH:
-MATH324 (Statistics) midterm
-COMP206 (Intro to Software Systems) midterm
-ATOC210 (Intro to Atmospheric Science) Assignment 4 due
-MUAR392 (Popular Music After 1945) topic for informal writing assignments due

MARCH 7th
-COMP250 (Intro to Computer Science) midterm #1

MARCH 10th
-COMP250 (Intro to Computer Science) midterm #2

MARCH 11th
-COMP206 Assignment 3 due

Originally, Assignment 3 for COMP206 was due on March 6th. Then I was like, hey Prof dude, that's not cool. Your midterm's on that day you big silly. But not exactly in those words.

Things with Andrew are going amazing. :D:D:D He's a big sweetie. I love him so much :D.

Anyway I'm going to stop writing now. No one reads anyway :P

    <lj:music>Machinae Supremacy - Fury 2007</lj:music>

So I was looking at the window, and thinking, "Man. People made the big uber snowstorm into a huge deal yesterday. It's not snowing that hard!" However, just looking outside now, like a half hour later, it's snowing a bit harder. Poops for the snow. However, for the first day of February, and after the really crap weather we had this week, this snow isn't quite so bad. I'm liking how there doesn't seem to be piercing wind outside that'll threaten me to fly into traffic or to twist my foot again in an "almost-fall".

Having 3 assignments due in one day is fairly hectic, especially when you find a problem with your batch file for a COMP206 assignment. Had to run up to Trottier during my break to fix it. That was really annoying considering I was planning on napping during my break yesterday. Oh well. I had a good 15 minute nap during Popular Music After 1945 during the James Brown live DVD (I'm sorry, some of his songs last really freaking long...).

YAY for Fridays! I have one class, I start late, and yeah! Andrew's meeting me at the train station at 4 :D:D:D. Then we're going to hang around the Metro shopping center before Allison and Ryan get back to her house at around 5. Games Night (n+2) tonight...should be fun. Luke's coming, yay!

Speaking of Luke, our Computer Science posse's starting to grow. At the beginning of the semester, the only person I really knew out of my Computer Science classes was Mitch. Then I found out Simon's in my COMP206 class, which pwns. Then I noticed a guy was always on the train with me, and in my two COMP classes. He ended up introducing himself, and that's Luke. Good guy! So then, our 3rd floor "pre-COMP250" posse grew one more person. Now this week it grew another person bigger: Jay. Luke made a friend in COMP206 and he started chilling around with us. He's pretty cool. Comes from California and stuff. I almost slipped and fell on my ass on Wednesday while walking with him, and he was like "OH GOD I WAS SO SCARED", it was funny. Then he almost fell. Hahaha. Wow, that was a crappy Wednesday: ice everywhere, going up and down the McGill hill, and FREAKING SCARY ASS WINDS.

...so on the train today I will be dorkifying up the Through the Fire and the Flames lyrics to match Computer Science. YEAH. Speaking of Through the Fire and the Flames...I almost made it through the solo on Hard mode in GH3 the other night, which makes my record of getting through 83% of the song. I know I can do the rest after that hideous solo.

So I find it slightly amusing how people love to stir up in my business, saying comments like I change my relationships frequently and other things. First of all, it's my business. Second...it's my business, yeah. I don't understand why some people are so caught up in trying to make me change my mind, or trying to ridicule me because I have a new boyfriend. Stuff with Nick was going down since November or so, and I was in denial that it would be fixed. My relationships have nothing to do with anyone else, so leave me alone unless you have something more intelligent to say.

Meanwhile, I have to get ready for school rather soon. I have a big day today, as it's Tuesday. Intro to Atmospheric Science, and Stats in the morning. Then I get an hour and a half break to work on my Unix assignment (one more little section done for the actual Unix work). Then I have Popular Music After 1945, and Intro to Software Systems to finish off my day.

Um, so I have to go now. Gotta get ready to catch the 8:40 train.

    <lj:music>Lordi - Hard Rock Hallelujah</lj:music>

Last day of 2007 is today. You know, this isn't exactly why I'm posting. Honestly, I just remembered now.

I start school on Thursday the 3rd, and my Mom's trying to ween me off sleeping in until noon. So she woke me up at 10:30 and I managed to roll over and sleep until 11. Apparently 10:30 was too early and too painful to wake up. It's a good thing she's doing this though; that way I'll be able to wake up early enough for school without feeling like dying. Plus I'm hosting a Catan game at my house on the 2nd...and it starts at 11 in the morning, which means waking up at at least 9. So good thing.

Mummy and I are going shoppings today. I got some Detox money from my Dad's neighbors, so I finally have a decent excuse to spend money on myself in that store. I'm thinking about picking up a copy of Oblivion for PS3. That's pretty much the only game I'm missing before being fully satisfied with my purchase. Oblivion's the game that made me want the PS3 in the first place. So the games I've got so far are: Guitar Hero III, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, and Assassin's Creed. So far I'm pacing myself a lot with Assassin's Creed because I hear it's short. Heavenly Sword's pretty damn awesome. However, Folklore's addictive; it's almost like Pokemon. You have to collect souls and stuff and attack with them, and you get to play as two characters.

In Guitar Hero III, I've been working on Career mode on HARD MODE. Last night I managed to finally beat Before I Forget by Slipknot (it's not that bad, just really freaking fast...believe it or not it's the last song I had to beat out of the package including Stricken by Disturbed, Knights of Cydonia by Muse, and that other one...OH YEAH 3s and 7s by Queens of the Stone Age). Knights of Cydonia's got a tapping solo that kinda tries to kill you near the end. 3s and 7s has a real bitchy solo. Stricken's not that bad. ANYWAY finally beat Before I Forget.

Then I had to beat Cult of Personality, which also has a crazy tapping part. So I died the first time through, practiced the solo a lot, then beat it on my second try. I pwned it pretty hard. THEN I got to the last package before fighting Lou, and that's where all the scary metal songs are >.<. Managed to beat Cliffs of Dover fairly easily (after practicing little solo parts). Because I'm a big Metallica fan, decided to start practicing One by Metallica. Obviously failed because of that STUPID freaking tapping part that starts off the solo. Gotta work on that. Tried out Raining Blood, failed. Tried out Number of the Beast, failed. Meh, I had enough at that point and started working on that stupid Dragonforce song on Hard because I feel like pwning Justin's score in it. Bet I can pwn him in the intro :P.

In Folklore...playing as Keats, I'm in Warcadia, right about to face the Folklore of Warcadia (big boss for those who do not understand the terminology of the game). Warcadia scares the crap out of me. The first realm you go to in the game is called the Faery's Realm k. Not too shabby on scariness. It's actually quite happy and the music's not bad and everything. THEN you get to friggin WARCADIA and you're like, OH CRAP IT'S THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE! Like the name implies, it's a giant warzone, and the folk IDs you have to absorb are of freaking warriors. There's like a standard hitting guy, a guy who shoots, a guy who shoots rapid fire...those little guys are tiny. Then you've got Volcano and Brummbear who are quite big and run around and, Volcano spits out FIIIIIRE and Brummbear shoots out cannonballs. Try having to face two of those idiots at the same time. Then you've got the sword and shield guys. THEN THE FREAKING MINI BOSS IS LIKE A TANK. Anyway I beat them all, and the boss is kinda scary. Doesn't help that there's scary music in Warcadia as well. I'm a pansy. It might take me a while to beat Warcadia in Ellen's character considering how scared I am of it.

Besides my dorky game talk, what else should I talk about? Did I ever post about Christmas? Well Christmas was pretty good for me, besides the fact that I got a cold/flu on Christmas Eve. It started with a sore throat/cough, and it was like that for a couple of days. Now it's more of a stuffy nose. However, I'm feeling a crapload better today. Didn't even have to blow my nose yet. I'm glad I took another day of rest (sorry Bodzay for not hanging out with you).

Nick left with his family for Jamaica on Saturday. Yeah, I miss him. Bet he's having a good time though, which makes me uber happy! He's only gone for a week, so that's cool. Plus...I start school...AGHFJSHFSK!! I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF I PASSED MY FIRST SEMESTER! Isn't that stupid? It says on my transcript (not word for word): "Marks posted between December 22 and January 2 will only appear on transcript on January 3". Well, isn't that silly? I have a feeling I didn't fail, but what if I did fail a class? That means I would have to stressfully change my schedule at the beginning of my semester that just started. That's so stupid. Anyway, I have a feeling I passed everything anyway, considering I know I passed my hardest course already.

I'm listening to the new Tarja Turunen CD. It's quite awesome. I haven't given it much of a chance to run through completely because I had a giant ADD moment when I heard her version of Poison by Alice Cooper. Quite awesome, I must say. When I heard it I was like OMG AWESOME!

On that note, Bryan and I are going to see Ozzy on the 16th. I'm quite excited!!! He got tickets for Christmas and decided to ask me to go. Yay Bryan!! Tickets for Paganfest aren't on sale yet...I want tickets. April 26th, the Medley, PAGANFEST: Ensiferum/Tyr/Eluveitie/Turisas. I'm uber excited for that one!!! I think Lordi deserves to redeem themselves and come to Montreal.

Anyway, have a happy new year all you peoples.

Well, first off, Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm at my Dad's and I'm listening to the new Tarja Turunen album "My Winter Storm" (the old singer of Nightwish). So far, pretty awesome. However, it got more awesome points as I heard Alice Cooper's POISON on the CD covered by her!! I WAS LIKE OMG! Tarja! You pwn! Alice Cooper song + Tarja = sexy.

I want to go home and play GH3...but I can't until tomorrow.

And there's poopy Celine Dion music going on in the background.

    <lj:music>Sonata Arctica - Misplaced</lj:music>

K well, I should totally be making myself some breakfast right now, but I figured since I haven't written here in a while, I would.

My exams are finally over. I had my last one (Probability) on Wednesday. Man, it was hell getting back home though. I was on the 221 for way over an hour. I went to Nick's at night to celebrate our little Christmas thingy. HAHA! We both got each other two gifts...and we both got each other Superbad as one of them. That was um, superweird. He got me FF12 for PS2, but I found out my PS3 doesn't support PS2 playback (however it supports PS1 playback). So we're going to Fairview tomorrow to exchange it (and to finish Christmas shoppings). But yeah, our evening was lovely.

On Thursday, I took the whole day to myself. Opened up my PS3 and played Assassin's Creed for a while. Got the internetz hooked up to it. Everything's good, except it doesn't seem to download the Assassin's Creed update. Ha, it's all good. What a cool game.

Yesterday I woke up at 5 after like, 3 hours of sleep. It's all good, had to get up at 7 anyway. I met up with Nick and Adam on the 200 on our way to Rachelle's to make gingerbread stuff. We each made houses. Mine has "poo" written in candy on its roof, Adam's has a huge star on his roof, and Nick's roof is full of bunnies. Nick's gingerbread house evidently has naked men in there. Hehe it smelled so good at Rachelle's, having freshly baked gingerbread...baking.

I went to Olie's after that and jammed for a bit. What an awesome drummer. Can't wait to jam with the full band now. Then I took the evening to myself, since Nick was at Sklar's epic Risk game with the guys. Played some more Assassin's Creed, watched TV, lots of stuff.

Yay, Kat's christmas party tonight. I gotta buy an assload of chips for that...

k I want breakfast now.
Bai

Um, garlic butter is the last set of words I heard. So that's my title.

Haven't written here in a while! Codon's had 3 practices, and soon to have much more, especially when exams are over. Our drummer, Mike, quit, but that's okay because we found a replacement for him 8 or 9 hours later or something like that. I was thinking "who lives near us who plays drums the lefty way?" (I take pride in being the only righty in the band). And that's when Olie's name popped up.

Yeah so I finally met Olie this year. I kept noticing this guy at the bus stop last year, and I know he lives near me. We finally started talking this year and turns out he's the drummer of Mars in Mind (John Nolan's band). I was like WHOA my old band played like, two bands before you guys at the BOTB last year! And yeah, he's like my twin. It's kinda scary. Anyway he's our new drummerboy.

I have a huuuuuge assignment due on December 4th (no penalty if handed in on the 6th though) for programming. It's quite huge. I'm almost done Question 1 out of like 4. However Questions 2 and 3 build up on the class I wrote for Question 1 and Question 4 is writing another class that's quite similar to the class written in Question 1. Blah.

Finals... I have on on December 10 (Discrete Structures), two on December 14th (Intro to Computing I in the morning and The Art of Listening in the afternoon), and my last one on December 19th! Then I get Christmas...til January 3rd where our Winter semester starts >.<. Nick's not even back from Jamaica at that point. Oh well, at least Winter semester ends on APRIL 11 BITCHEZ.

I winzors.

What else is up? Oh, check on Facebook.

So I just got a phonecall from my Dad asking if Nick and I would want to go guitar shopping with him and his neighbor and to sleep over tonight (because it wouldn't be smart to drive Nick home all the way from Vaudreuil after like, jamming with them until 1 AM). Unfortunately, because this Saturday is cursed, I cannot go because I am seeing a classical music concert at McGill tonight for my concert sheet assignment! THAT and I'm missing band practice this afternoon because of too much homeworks. Ben la!!! THAT and I'm missing Sklar's party. Poopycacks!

*breathes* It's all good folks. It's allll good. If I don't have today to do homework, I may have a crazy breakdown tomorrow. Curses, teachers! You're not even all in the same department (except for the two math courses, but they're both unrelated almost) and you STILL plan things in the same DAMN WEEK! CURSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR~!!!!!! It's quite amusing because of my struggles to convert the videos. However, one conversion made something funny happen to the videos so I put some of those clips in too. Go see it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ssP5rjOhXo

Although I won't be at practice today, I believe Allison will be videotaping "Codon's second practice".
Midterms suck

    <lj:music>Machinae Supremacy - Legion of Stoopid</lj:music>

Actually, no...midterms don't suck so hard. I mean yeah, it sucks to study for them, but they're worth it in the end. I pwned my last two finals (87% on the first Art of Listening midterm and 90% on the Discrete Structures midterm). You see, in those two classes, especially Discrete Structures, I don't have to stress as much for the final. Of course, I'll still stress, but it won't be as bad as having to worry about the final counting as much as like, 80% of my grade.

What midterms are coming up?:

Probability Theory Tuesday, October 30...11:35 AM
Intro to Computing I Monday, November 5...6:05 PM - 8:05 PM
The Art of Listening (Midterm 2) Wednesday, November 7...12:35 AM

Well I'm not so worried for the Art of Listening. I mean cmon. I barely pay attention and I know what they're talking about. Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven...blabla. It's awesome music. I'm nervous for probability even though I technically already took the stuff we learned. It's just a bit harder, we have to memorize all the equations, and blah. Gamma distribution? Disgusting.

I also have a 20 minute oral on November 8th. I'm nervous for that because I have the feeling my teachers are going to interrogate me with crazy questions. Ugh. Lots of assignments due too: Discrete Structures Assignment 4 (forgot when it's due), Probability Assignment 3 (also forgot when it's due), and Intro to Computing Assignment 4 (November 23). I like how the last one's due so much later. Hehehehe!

Codon's first band practice was Friday (two days ago). We kicked ass. Seriously :P. I guess that's what happens when you put a bunch of experienced musicians in a room. We played five covers: Come Together by The Beatles, Time by Pink Floyd, Closer to the Heart by Rush, The Enemy Within by Rush, and School by Supertramp. Our best cover so far is Time. Closer to the Heart didn't cause as much problems as I thought it would for me, and it's going well too. Come Together just needs a solo learned for the end...Enemy Within needs to be learned in general for most of us but we still got it down pretty well with just Ryan, Mike, and I playing hehe. School is awesome. We just need to work on timing (because there are several pauses) and I'm going to learn guitar parts for when Ryan's piano-ing it up. Next Saturday we have another practice!

I was sick yesterday :(. I was supposed to go with Nick and his family to go see Danny play with his band live. Sucks. I had a really bad fever before I had to leave to go bus to Nick's. I was all dizzy and stuff, so I rested and watched movies and stuff all night.

Nicki's currently reminding me right now why I never want to take a biology class again. Wow she has a lot of stuff to remember and it's killing my braincells as she explains how much she has to remember...

Apparently a robin is...TURDUS MIGRATORIUS. I want to be a turdus too!!! TURRRRD

Hey people,

Just waiting for my class to start. It's 11:02 AM and my class starts at 11:35 AM. Heehee. Discrete Structures for an hour, then The Art of Listening. Very easy day if I may say so myself. I've been doing pretty well in school so far. Makes me not miss Abbott. I miss it a little actually, 'specially the 3rd floor stairs people.

So Friday's the first Halloween party in the next three weeks coming up. I think we're celebrating Sam's birthday as well. Party at Sam's at Bodzay's house? Yeah that's probably how it'll go down. Adam plans parties at different peoples' houses. Thennnn November 2 is Dayna's Halloween Party, aaaand then November 9th is John's Halloween party...*dies*. Friday's going to be fun though; Justin, Adam, Nick, and I are teaming up and dressing up as Team Rocket. I think Adam may have also convinced Ryan to dress up as Wobbufet. Oh yeah. We're awesome.

What else...oh yeah, so our band is coming together finally. November 3 we practice, woot. Allison on guitar, Nick on bass, Ryan on guitar/keyboard, Mike on drums, and me on vocals/guitar. Yay for progressive rock! We're going to cover some Rush, Supertramp, Pink Floyd, and the Beatles so far XD. I'm l'excited.

Yup, I quit Soundscape. Apparently women don't fit in with the classic rock scene. Yeah, I laughed at that too guys.

It's been a little bit over a year with Nick already :O! We celebrated this weekend since he was out the actual weekend of our anniversary. I gave him a scrapbook of every month and a CD of raw recordings of me playing guitar and singing a bunch of love songs...to go with every month. Yeah. He loved it :). He gave me a four-leaf clover (awww!!! he found me one!), the Across the Universe soundtrack (the 2-CD one), and his dignity (he agreed he'd go clubbing with me)...:)! He took me out to supper at Madison's for yummy ribs! And then we got soaked in the rain while running to the car. It was kinda scary driving home because a good portion of de Salaberry was like, flooded. It was le scary.

On Saturday, Adam, Justin, and I, met up at Fairview and we bought some stuff for our costumes. I also bumped into Bruneau on the bus! She showed me where to buy long gloves. It was awesome! Then I went to Nick's for supper, and he drove me home :O. He's actually really good now. (his mom was there too). Can't wait til he gets his license :D.

So this wasted some time. Not as bored anymore.

Kids around my area tend to like, yell and scream as they go to school at 7:15 in the morning. Assholes. Waking me up an hour earlier than I'm supposed to. Geez.

I have Discrete Structures and The Art of Listening today. I can't complain since they're only 50 minute classes and I start at 11:35. Then I'll be back home by 2:30, and Nick will show up by 3:15-3:30ish. Discrete is kinda confusing though because of all of the proofs. I cried a little at my assignment...but whatever, I have the whole weekend to look through it. I'm sure Simon will help me out if I need it. He's like, brilliant. Simon has really cool dreads.

The Art of Listening's a pretty slack class too. We had our midterm on Wednesday and I'm pretty certain I aced the thing. We barely had to remember titles and composers because of the multiple choice section. Heh. HEY! It's Dave Spillane's birthday today! I'll see him in class.

What else? Oh yeah, Intro to Computing assignment's almost done. I finally know how to do Question 2 without making it really really long and tiring. Woohoo for programming with Java! ...I think I have an assignment for Mental Illness and the Brain due soon too. I should probably look at that.

I haven't slept much this week. It's bothering me. Means the stress level's a wee bit higher than normal.

Did you know phobias are considered anxiety disorders?

I never really knew that but it makes sense, considering I'm claustrophobic and tend to come close to anxiety attacks when I'm on the bus, full of people, sitting in a really tight spot. I guess motion sickness doesn't help much either, but I think it's more claustrophobia considering I can sleep and read on the 211 and not get sick.

The new Nightwish CD (Dark Passion Play) kicks some serious ass. I mean, I was a wee bit worried considering Tarja left some pretty big shoes to fill. Don't kill me, Tarja lovers, but I prefer the newer stuff. I find Annette brings something different to the music with her voice.

Hmm...9:24. I should probably consider going now. Yeah, definitely now. It's now 9:25.

    <lj:music>Apoptygma Berzerk - In This Together</lj:music>

I haven't posted in a while, so here it goes. I finished my job at Light a Dream on Friday (I didn't have a choice, the grant was up, or else I would so have stayed). They threw Megan and I a surprise Farewell party and I couldn't stay for all that long because I was heading off to Melanie's farewell party (also known as Moe in the good ol' days). I saw TOHOM man! He drove me home XD. It was a pretty fun party considering I didn't stay long.

Saturday I finally trained at karate again. I got it pretty hard too...my legs were hurting until yesterday, man! I got to see Jeff and a bunch of people from karate I haven't seen in ages. Actually that's a lie, I saw Jeff last week at the Kamelot concert (which was awesome btw, we met Leaves' Eyes). Anyway, after that I went to Nick's house for a while. I got to play Oblivion XD. I suck at it but hey, Nick and his bro told me how to get into the Dark Brotherhood and stuff. Anyway, my character's a Dark Elf and she's awesome. Mwahahaha.

I went to McGill on Monday for the Computer Science orientation. I got there early so I could buy some books and stuff. I got myself a side backpack (where I put my Kamelot pins on the strap), a baby blue covered McGill agenda, "Java Software Solutions" textbook secondhand, and the textbook for Discrete Mathematics. Should be fun. The Comp Sci people are pretty cool. I met another guy in my program (in Software). His name's Simon and has crazy dreads. He's pretty awesome. Anyway, Simon, me, and Texas Girl (I don't know her name) went to the Comp Sci. lounge to see Jesse after. Jesse's the head of the CSUS or something. Anyway I hung out there until like, 5. Cool people.

Yesterday was sooo pointless going to McGill for the big orientation. The minute we started walking uphill to see the Physiotherapy buildings and stuff, I said "No way am I staying all day". So when our group went into Shatner, I left to go home. Nick Dunn couldn't have said it better: I feel like I'm on a really bad school field trip right now. Yeah, so I went home. Then I went to Nick's at night to celebrate his birthday!!! LEGAL! I got him Resistance: Fall of Man for PS3...and I gave back his Harry Potter 2 book :D.

Anyway, today I'm going to McGill...again. Hopefully won't be a waste of time today. Abbotteers? Expect me around the campus tomorrow and Friday. I have nothing better to do.

8 Random Things

8 Random Things About Me

Because I should.

1. I have a sleep condition that makes me hallucinate. I have both hypnogogia and hypnopompia. Basically, hypnogogia allows me to hallucinate (see things, hear things, have my body sheak, feel like im falling, feel like im slipping, etc.) right before I go into the sleeping state. Hypnopompia makes me hallucinate as I wake up. It doesn't happen all the time and usually does when I'm really stressed. It's one of those things.

2. I don't use my pinky while playing guitar. Will tried training me to do so but I absolutely refuse. I mean, sometimes I will use it, but not usually. Either way I seem to get around not using it.

3. I'm obsessed with pens. My mom even said it tonight that if I had a billion pens and only a couple were run out, like a little, I'd need more. I really like pens. The satisfaction of writing something or doing work sometimes just makes me feel really important.

4. It's hard to believe but I really actually do like to dance. I remember going to school dances and stuff and just, loving to dance to crazy techno/dance music. It's like I have an inner dancing queen or something. I really dig techno and dance music. Even some reggae.

5. When I was a child, I looked asian and sounded Swedish. I watched home videos of myself and found myself not understanding most of the words I was saying. What a weird child. I have no asian blood in me.

6. I don't like touching ...food. I don't know how to explain this one. If there are dishes to do, it's like hell doing them. I hate washing peanut butter knives because they smell disgusting when I clean them. Moist tupperware containers are disgusting too.

7. I haven't drank milk since I was 11-12 years old. I don't like it and my parents thought I was lactose intolerant for a while. Apparently I'm not that intolerant anymore considering I love cheese.

8. I need to draw comics during the summer or else I won't feel fulfilled with myself. So far the comic I'm working on now is one of the more successful projects. Sus4 Life was incredibly successful until it died, however I have a better feeling about this one.

Ultimate Harry Potter Weekend!

    <lj:music>Sonata Arctica - San Sebastian</lj:music>

Ultimate Harry Potter Weekend now comes to an end as it is Sunday evening. I'm chilling on the couch after this exhausting yet entirely fun weekend and reflecting on what happened.

FRIDAY JULY 20
Work was pretty good that day. It went by really fast after Bill showed up with the printed copies of brochures and coupons I made. I think my wrist just about went numb after cutting out about 120 raffle tickets I had printed out on orange paper in the morning. It was worth it though. I taught Pamela some more Photoshop effects and I love seeing her enthusiasm with Photoshop. Nick showed up at around 5 and then we went back to my house when my Mom picked us up. He was pretty exhausted because he got back from Ryan's party the night before at 1 in the morning (I should say early Friday morning actually). ANYWAY we took a 15-20 minute nap in the basement. I was actually napping pretty well into Nick jerked in his sleep and scared the crap out of me.

After supper, we sat down in the living room with mummy and watched some of my old home movies (like I'm talking about between the ages of 2 and 12 here). That was intense. I had really long hair when I was 12 actually and planning on growing it back. That should be interesting. We then left at around 10 to go pick up Nick's little brother from Provigo, where he works. We headed back to Nick's and decided to take a nice long walkie before heading out to Chapters. We went to the dep and bought some Starbursts because, trust me, I needed to be hyped up to drive home as late as possible. I was not planning on leaving empty handed that night.

We got to Chapters at around midnight and noticed the lineup was pretty LONG. Nick and I were almost at Future Shop outside, yo. Nick had already bought his book and apparently there was another lineup for those who did. He felt bad for leaving me, but I told him to. Either way it worked out because all he needed to get was a bracelet signifying he bought it, so a Chapters rep brought him to that line, got him the bracelet, and he came back to stand with me :). We got out of Chapters at 1 AM both triumphant to hold Harry Potter 7 in our hands :D. I got home at around 1:30 and read the first chapter. I think I would've read more but I was exhausted. I forgot to mention, while standing in line, some guy walked beside it trying to sell the book for 70$. Hahaha.

SATURDAY, JULY 21
I woke up pretty earlyish and made it a plan to pick Nick up at around 1 to head off to Chapters, again. Light a Dream had a stand set up there teaching kids how to make beeswax wand candles, so I wanted to go stop in and say Hi. Michael, Megan, Diana, Edmund, and Pamela were there when I arrived. Later on, about 10 minutes later I should say, Wayne and Mel arrived. Nick and I then left to go grab some McDonalds because we were starving, but saved some room because we were going to eat supper a bit earlier that night.

When we got back to Nick's, we pretty much ran upstairs and installed ourselves on his bed to read some more Harry Potter. It was pretty relaxing :D! Then we watched some TV and stuff, spent some good quality time together before heading out to St Hubert's for supper.

We then met Matt, Dave, Pinchefsky, and Libero at the Colisee! HARRY POTTER 5 TIME! I personally thought it was a little all over the place, but I still thought it was pretty good. I really like the effects they used with the Death Eaters and Voldemort and stuff. I also thought they chose great actresses for Tonks and Bellatrix. Either way, it was alright in the end. They left out a lot of detail though...like what happened to Zacharius? Oh well. After we went to Timmy's and the cashier gave me a free Pooh. I was quite pleased.

*sigh* Nick's like, more than 10 chapters ahead of me in Harry Potter now. That bum! It's awesome so far though.

I bid thee adieu!!

    <lj:music>Coldplay from the car outside</lj:music>

Well I noticed a lot of people recently updated their LJs so I figure, hey what the hell, may as well too. At 2 I'm going out to see Transformers; gotta go to the bank first before heading out to the Colisee to meet Nick, Matt, and Fatass (Justin). I heard mixed reviews on the movie, and I hope it's awesome.

Yesterday was quite eventual. Live Earth! I saw quite a bit of it actually. My favorite performances were by Metallica, Spinal Tap, Roger Waters, and of course, The Police. Bon Jovi was awesome too from what I saw this morning on YouTube. Metallica playing Nothing Else Matters really hit me; it was beautifully done. That and the crowd response was awesome. Spinal Tap was AWESOME! They had their Army of Bassists come out, which was pretty much like, Metallica, and members of other bands up there, all playing basslines. It was too cool.

I went to Dayna and Ray-man's 21st birthday party at around 4:30. It was awesome fun! We played DDR and did some karaoke. Before i left they just started playing Scene It. I sang Panic! At the Disco. Hahaha.

At around 9 I left and went over to Nick's until around 11:15ish. It was fun. We were both pretty tired so we stayed on the couch and watched some more Live Earth. 'Tis when I saw Roger Waters and the Police. ROOOXANNE. Lalalala...

Yesterday was 777. Quite the eventual day if I might say so myself.

Oh my GOD Mom just came home from grocery shopping with Coldplay blasting from the car. Hahahaha Coldplay!!!

I think I'm going to watch some YouTube videos now. Adios.
